The Festival
of Light is an international collaborative project bringing
together more than twenty photography events from eighteen countries.
Each event has as a goal to pool efforts to organize a unique
event for 2000-01. This audacious project consists of building
special programming for our biennales emphasizing the passage
of photography into a new millennium. Taking part in this international
project are photography events in Houston, Rotterdam, Barcelona,
Toronto, Braga, Moscow, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Stockholm,
Bratislava, Cuturiba, Beyrouth, Paris, Cologne, and Montreal.
In a spirit of cooperation, we have produced a programme and
a Web site to make the existence of this network, and its planetary
dynamic, known. The Mois de la Photo à Montréal
will host the next meeting the directors of these events.
