Image & Imagination includes commissioned essays by art historians and photographic theorists, Geoffrey Batchen, Catherine Bédard, Fae Brauer, Francine Dagenais, Petra Halkes, Martyn Jolly, Kirsty Robertson, and Ian Walker. The exhibitions are introduced in curatorial essays and critical readings by Randall Anderson, Pascale Beaudet, Marie-Josée Jean, Alice Ming Wai Jim, Martha Langford, Vincent Lavoie, Rhonda L. Meier, Steve Reinke, and Gabor Szilasi. The 336-page book is richly illustrated with 125 reproductions in full colour. In addition, the publication won the AIGA Design Prize of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and was shortlisted for the 2006 Book and Jacket Award of the Association of American University Presses.
